Price per kilogram of potatoes per country?
The summary below shows the price per kilogram of potatoes exported from South Africa per country for the period January 2019 to November 2019:
One has to wonder about the accuracy of some of the information collected and published by the South African Revenue Service. The question is why would Qatar pay R131.35 per kilogram of potatoes from South African when the average price in 2019 for South Africa's potato exports was R16.70 per kilogram? Even South Africa's inland neighbor of Lesotha can hardly afford to spend any money, let alone dish out 4 times the average price per kilogram of potatoes exported from South Africa.
In total from January 2019 to November 2019 South Africa exported 7.484 million kilograms of potatoes at a total value of R125.315 million, with 52.4% of South Africa's potato exports heading to Botswana and 21.5% of South Africa's potato exports heading to Namibia.
