We take a look at data supplied by Statistics South Africa and focus on the average price per 700 gram loaf of white bread per province. So what exactly does a 700 gram loaf of white bread go for these days and are the prices paid for it across South Africa's various provinces very different from one another? The summary below shows the average price per 700 gram white bread per province (as at December 2019). Sorted from the province that pays the highest average price per 700 gram loaf of white bread to the province that pays the least.
