Contribution of various wholesaler types to total wholesale trade sales in South Africa
The pie chart below shows the amount of income earned per wholesaler type in South Africa during November 2018. And as mentioned in the introduction by far the biggest contributor to wholesale income in South Africa during November 2018 was the wholesale trade in solid, liquid and gaseous fuels with this retailer type recording income over R50 billion
The battle for the wholesaler type that recorded the second highest income during November 2018 is pretty close between wholesale trade in machinery, equipment and supplies and the wholesale trade in the food, beverages and tobacco, with the machinery, equipment and supplies wholesalers recording income of R32.7 billion whole while wholesalers in the food, beverages and tobacco industry recording income of R32.6 billion during November 2018.

Thats right so the seasonally adjusted value that removes seasonal effects and trading patterns such as Black Friday is basically saying that Black Friday and Cyber Monday pushed up wholesale trade data numbers by around R19 billion.
