As we stated on our homepage. We are looking to be your one stop shop for economics related information for South Africa. This page goes a long way in fulfilling that goal. Not only does it supply users with a graphic showing various exchange rates on a daily basis but we supply the excel sheet to download the information being presented in the graphic.
The graphic below shows various daily exchange rates against the South African Rand (ZAR) from January 2013. The graphic is interactive, so if you click on the descriptions below the graph it will add or remove the graph of the description you click on. We also added a scroll bar at the top of the chart that allows users to zoom into specific dates if they want to. Your mousewheel scroller will work for zooming in and out too. The following exchange rates are shown in the graphic:

The Rand has been extremely volatile over the last couple of months. We saw a tremendous depreciation in December when President Jacob Zuma unexpectedly fired Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene as South Africa's finance minister. Sending the markets into a tail spin, and revelations coming out later about "state" capture and Zuma's cabinet appointments being influenced by the Gupta brothers. This undue influence of the Gupta's over Zuma has lead to the coin phrase "Zupta". Zupta's has fled South Africa and set up a base in Dubai.
Dovish comments from the Federal Reserve has boosted the Rand, but thats more Dollar weakness than Rand strength.
