What is interesting to note is as the age groups go higher, the lower the contribution of African/Blacks and the higher the contribution of White population. Clearly white's have the older average age of citizens compared to African/Blacks. The same trend as White's are present for Indian/Asian population with their contribution to the total increasing as the age grouping increases.
In the next 10 to 20 years the overall population of South Africa will be made up by more African/Blacks compared to 79.9% of the population that is currently made up by the population group, if the percentage of children is taken into account, while the White and Asian population groups will be the population groups with the older average population.
