Electricity generated (produced) in South Africa during November 2019
Statistics South Africa had the following to say regarding electricity generated in South Africa during November 2019.
Electricity generation (production) decreased by 2,8% year-on-year in November 2019. Seasonally adjusted electricity generation decreased by 1,0% in November 2019 compared with October 2019. This followed month-on month changes of -1,0% in October 2019 and 2,3% in September 2019. Seasonally adjusted electricity generation decreased by 0,4% in the three months ended November 2019 compared with the previous three months

Electricity distributed (consumed) in South Africa during November 2019
Statistics South Africa had the following to say regarding electricity distributed in South Africa during November 2019.
Electricity distribution (consumption) decreased by 3,1% year-on-year in November 2019. Seasonally adjusted electricity distribution decreased by 1,4% month-on-month in November 2019, following month-on-month changes of -0,5% in October 2019 and 3,3% in September 2019. Seasonally adjusted electricity distribution increased by 0,5% in the three months ended November 2019 compared with the previous three months.

Looking at the volume of electricity delivered to the various provinces in South Africa for November 2019 (in gigawatt-hours):
- Western Cape: 1 811
- Eastern Cape: 733
- Northern Cape: 621
- Free State: 848
- KwaZulu-Natal: 3 442
- North West: 2 360
- Gauteng: 4 419
- Mpumalanga: 2 821
- Limpopo: 1 226
The summary below shows the year on year growth rates in the number of gigawatt-hours delivered to the various provinces in South Africa:
All the big electricity consuming provinces such as Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and North West showed significant declines in the number of gigawatt-hours used in November 2019 when compared to November 2018. The Northern Cape and Free State however showed strong increases in electricity used over the last 12 months.

- Free State: 4.7%
- KwaZulu-Natal: -2.8%
- North West: -6.2%
- Gauteng: -3.3%
